The centrepiece of this collaboration is an on-demand screening of the critically acclaimed and hugely successful Grand Finale, previously staged at Sadler's Wells in 2017 as part of a world tour. Sadler’s Wells Theatre ZooNation, Some Like It Hip Hop. First, Take Part in the Get Into Dance Workshop, a chance to explore the distinctive movement style of Hofesh Shechter. In Take Five Blues, Stina Quagebeur’s choreography responds to two of her favourite pieces of music, Bach’s Vivace and Paul Desmond’s jazz standard, Take Five – both performed live in arrangement’s by English National Ballet Music Director Gavin Sutherland. He collaborates on this project with video artist Panagiotis Tomaras and with commissioned sound design by Dana Fouras. Delineated by a curtain of fine strings, 10 dancers display an impressive succession of virtuoso dance phrases, in jewel-toned costumes by designer Dries van Noten. A chance to delve deeper into the work by learning two extracts of choreography from Grand Finale: Rave and Russian Passion. Grand Finale will be streamed on Thursday 17 September at 7pm and be freely available for seven days after. Chalayan’s first theatrical work Gravity Fatigue, received its world premiere at Sadler’s Wells in October 2015. It is set to Purcell’s famous aria from Dido and Aeneas – sung live by mezzo soprano Flora McIntosh, as well as new electronic music composed by Olga Wojciechowska.
